We are big fans of Grist, support their journalism efforts and often read their site. A recent post that is well worth sharing and we can recommend tackles the seemingly increased complexity of recycling at home. Happily it appears as if everyone is becoming more aware of exactly how bad our addiction to disposable, mostly single use items are, this probably has something to do with the general uptick in concern over global warming and our environment in general, but more specifically our problem with plastic pollution. So on the up side, we’re all more aware of what we use to package those things that we buy, on the downside, not everything is easily recyclable. Can, bottles and paper were easy, now we have plastic bags, plastic straws, food waste, old electronics, etc, etc… the list goes on almost ad infinitum.
Ask Umbra made a valiant and good effort to help separate out (pun intended) the current do’s and don’ts of various recycling efforts. If this is something that’s been driving you a little crazy, maybe they can help out, read – Help! I Don’t Know How To Recycle Anymore.
